The 1938 phantom corsair
- I'm actually not a fan of the entire car, but let's put it like that: this is just amazing, in term of surfacing, in term of attitude, in term of craziness or just plain freedom of shape, i guess in 1938 codes , security and just the notion of what's cool was totally different.
Manufacturer Rust Heinz
Production 1938
Class Mid-size
Body style(s) 2-door coupé

The beauty of a 125 years old Mercedes Benz
January 29, 1886, Karl Benz applied for a patent for his "vehicle with gas engine operation." Patent DRP 37435 for the Benz Patent Motor Car.
Seven months after Benz filed his patent for the automobile, Daimler with his master engineer Wilhelm Maybach attached his Daimler engine to a four-wheeled coach producing the first "horseless" carriage.

home made awesome landmower engine powered vehicules
-While partying at the south seattle industrial block party i ran into those home made awesome little cars, basically a bunch of coworkers of resolute USA ( a light fixture company) spend their free time constructing those little landmower engine powered vehicule and race them on the parking .
one word awesome, two words.. mmmh Fuck it's cool .
I have a preference for that first one , i really like those proportions and over all the attitude.

the beauty of a tool.

-looking at product all day and designing them..lately i tend to look at older product more than new fresh mass produced shiny products.
I always liked rusted ,old dusty equipment.
Her is a selection of old rusted but beautiful tools AKA tractor , the presence and the proportions of those products (yes a car and a tractor IS a product) are just lovely.
Adding to that a dusty rusted patina that only history and hours of use can give you , this is pure beauty .

BMW GINA: a car with a fabric skin

-Check this out, now that's something exciting, finally somebody is doing a concept car that fight against the usual way of designing a car, YEs there is still 4 wheels, YEs there is still a steering wheel , but the outer skin is made of seamless polyurethane-coated Lycra fabric wrapped and tension by an aluminium skeleton underneath, looks great, feel fresh .
Yes it's just a concept car, but think about what it can imply , change the colour of you car easily, wash the skin of your car in the washing machine and so on...

Hot surfaces: Joshua Maruska screen capture

-Coworker and design guru Joshua Maruska is somehow a Cad killer, meaning , it looks like nothing can stop him when he want to achieve a goal ,( achieve... killer, hahahah) , so to be fast and not precise he used only Alias studio Tools 2008 some time and he did a screen capture of his modeling, no render , just photoshop for the depth of field .
The proportion are special but check the quality of the surface ,don't know if there is a lot of alias user here but this is impressive.
just check his blogfor a total description , here is a preview.
from his own words :
"I wanted something that evoked classic 60's cars (Dinos and Cobras and such) but still feel modern. I always loved this era since car design really was about the shape of things rather than how contorted the sheet metal could be or how many vents something could have (all functional of course!). Keep it simple. Make it nice."
