Dutch genius, Marcel Wanders. Co-founder and art director for Moooi, a maker of modern and contemporary furniture, home goods and assorted knick-knacks, many of Wanders' pieces are on display at the prestigious Museum of Modern Art in NYC as well as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Lending his creative talents to modern retailers like Kartell, Droog, Vitra and Magis, Wanders' designs have garnered many awards over the years.
My favourite expression of Wanders is when is mixing macro scaling with deeper references to delft and ornamental dutch history blazed across fantastic form and ingenious mixes of material and function.
"Moooi leads the understanding of culture, human needs and technology, contributes by creating the most successful innovative design collection ever and creates unprecedented value and opportunity for its customers, employees, investors and partners. This is our challenge and vision, we ask you to hold us to it and help us realise it."
Here is some examples of his exceptional portfolio.
