GOTLAND Island sweden, 4 days to explore

- it's winter time, it's vacation time and we decided to explore the great North, after stockholm, i am now in Gotland , the biggest island island of sweden , i am staying in Visby , and i'm here to relax obviously but also to check out the amazing craftmanship of the habitants,i'm visiting studios and workshops here , from GRASP studio to GAD or Skulture fabriken , discovering the hidden secrets or just the amazing peopole behind those simple yet warm and beautiful products and pieces of furnitures, i'm filming too and i hope i will have a little taste of what i experienced here, meanwhile if you have time ,and you like this kind of things , this island is a place you cannot miss, enough said, stay tuned for a video update in the near futur, so long .

IDSA NW : The shaggies Design award trophies

- I had the pleasure to design and manufacture the new awards for the shaggies design awards ( IDSA Northwest design awards)here is some quick shots of them, check the link for some more work in progress pictures.
Looking at the finished product, the words seems to disappear and reappear depending of the angle of vision.
I wanted to create that subtle read to reflect the process of a design award judging. A trained eye can see things differently , and if judges look at the competition entries the right way , they might discover that hidden quality that deserve a gold award.

-“Time is a gradient and we use timepieces to slice that gradient into meaningful increments”

The name refers to the UTC -8 time zone of the West Coast of the USA.
The process of anodizing aluminum and metal-finishing inspired Krieger to produce these incredibly eye catching pieces of art . The gradient effect of each 8 layers of MINUS 8 is created by layering gradually more intensely-colored discs of anodized metal, the anodizing process is also a reference to time as the color intensity as a direct relationship with the time you spend anodizing it.
Another process PVD has been explored to create the grey version :
"Further research showed that Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) was another industrial coating process with inherent time dependencies. A raw stainless piece is placed in a vacuum chamber where a hard coating accumulates over time. More time in the chamber produces a thicker coating and a more opaque color."

Apparently he's working on making prototypes right now, stay tuned.

The light bulb conspiracy

The synopsis:

Once upon a time... products were made to last. Then, in the 1920s, businessmen were struck by an insight: "A product that refuses to wear out is a tragedy of business!" Ever since then, manufacturers have been engineering their products to fail.
This film tells the story of Planned Obsolescence, showing how long-lasting light bulbs were suppressed by a secret cartel and how ladder-proof stockings disappeared without trace. Modern electronics come equipped with inbuilt 'death-dates', sending them to the landfills before their time.

But consumers have started rebelling, to save the planet and the economy...

stormtrooper made out of Adidas :all day i dream about stormtroopers

-Submitted to the Star Wars Remix Project, which challenges fans to create characters or other recognizable elements from the movies using everyday materials, the recycled headgear looks almost exactly like the real thing. Freehand Profit crafted the mask out of exclusive Adidas x Star Wars Superskate Mids, but it wasn’t easy. “This was the first piece that required more than one pair of shoes to create and it gave me hell,” he explains. “I pushed through and couldn’t be happier with the result.”
